What is Grand Prix Legends?

Grand Prix Legends (GPL) is one of the best and most demanding racing simulations for the PC. GPL simulates the Forumula 1 season of the year 1967. In those good old days the racing cars drifted through the corners in rally like style and drivers like Jack Brabham, Jim Clark, Graham Hill and Jochen Rindt made the spectators hold their breath. The usage of computers in Formula 1 racing was still in the far distance.

Although GPL appeared already in 1998 it still sets standards within the field of driving physics and realism (Developer: Papyrus / Publisher: Sierra).

In 1998 GPL included 11 historic racing tracks: Kyalami, Mexico, Monaco, Monza, Mosport, Nürburgring Nordschleife, Rouen, Silverstone, Spa, Watkins Glen and Zandvoort. Today - more than 7 years after it`s release - GPL has still a world wide community with a growing number of like-minded, who constantly improve this great sim with a various number of addons and updates. There are over 500 (!) addon tracks, photorealistic 3D car updates, original engine sounds of historic racing cars and a growing number of mods, simulating other seasons and classes (e.g. 1965, 1966, 1969, Cortina, ...), as well as a vast number of programs and other updates that make GPL unique. You can get all updates for free on the web!

Online racing with up to 20 drivers is another highlight, using iGOR (Grand Prix Legends Online Racing - mainly for GPL mods) and WinVROC (Virtual Racers' Online Connection - mainly for 1967).
